Due to Covid-19 we have made changes in how we operate to meet best practices under the guidelines and mandates from the County of San Diego Health Department and Community Care Licensing.

Our goal is to first and foremost provide a joyful time for your child and support social emotional growth with their friends! We are doing everything we can to stay connected to you, your child, and the community! These are extraordinary times and having you work with us is very much appreciated!

The first five years are the most formative ones in your child's entire development. Our school is designed to meet the needs of children's developmental differences. We encourage your child to explore, ask questions, be creative, get dirty and make wise choices. We offer rich experiences and environments in which your child will feel secure to practice social skills and to learn how to solve conflicts constructively.

About Our School

First Presbyterian Church established the Preschool in 1970 as a service to the community. It is a nonprofit organization supported entirely by tuition. It is operated on a nondiscriminatory basis offering equal treatment and access to services without regard to race, color, or religion. The School is accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs, a division of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and is licensed by the California State Department of Social Services. Particular attention is given to qualified leadership and staff. Early childhood education is a highly specialized field. A good preschool program takes careful planning, skill and knowledge.

Class Assignments

Class Assignments

Children will be assigned to a classroom with the same teachers and same peers throughout the summer session. Classrooms will be defined groups.

Outdoor Time

In the past, two or more groups or classrooms shared outdoor time. With the new regulations we will have set times with set groups of no more than 2 classes

Please adhere to the schedule and days that you registered for as we do not have the flexibility to make changes under the mandates.

Arrival Procedures

Drop Off:

Please go directly to your child’s classroom. All children, parents and staff entering our school will receive a general health screening and temperature check. If a child, a parent or a staff member has a temperature over 100°F then no one in their family group will be allowed to enter. Once children have arrived, they will be directed to wash their hands before participating in any activity. Masks or face coverings are not required for children. Staff and visitors are required to wear face coverings. Staff will modify face coverings as needed to safely communicate and interact with your child.

What If My Child Is Sick?

Our policy remains the same. If your child has vomited or had a fever, they must be symptom free for 24 hours before returning. If your child is sent home sick on a Tuesday, they may not return on Wednesday. Remember – SYMPTOM free for 24 hours AND without medication.

"Not only did my child love this place and it's staff of amazing teachers, my whole family was invited into a community of peers and friends. We could not have asked for a better preschool experience for my son"
