About Our School
First Presbyterian Church established the Preschool in 1970 as a service to the community. It is a nonprofit organization supported entirely by tuition. It is operated on a nondiscriminatory basis offering equal treatment and access to services without regard to race, color, or religion. Particular attention is given to qualified leadership and staff. Early childhood education is a highly specialized field. A good preschool program takes careful planning, skill and knowledge.
The first five years are the most formative ones in your child's entire development. Our school is designed to meet the needs of children's developmental differences. We encourage your child to explore, ask questions, be creative, get dirty and make wise choices. We offer rich experiences and environments in which your child will feel secure to practice social skills and to learn how to solve conflicts constructively.
Arrival Procedures
Drop Off:
Please go directly to your child’s classroom. All children, parents and staff entering our school will receive a general health screening and temperature check. If a child, a parent, or a staff member has a temperature over 100°F then they will not be allowed to enter. Once children have arrived, they will be directed to wash their hands before participating in any activity.

What If My Child Is Sick?
Our policy remains the same. If your child has vomited or had a fever, they must be symptom free for 24 hours before returning. If your child is sent home sick on a Tuesday, they may not return on Wednesday. Remember – SYMPTOM free for 24 hours AND without medication.

Class Assignments
Class Assignments
Children will be assigned to a classroom with the same teachers and same peers throughout the school year. Classrooms will be defined groups.

Outdoor Time
Outdoor time is an extended time of learning and supports development! All children will spend time in one of our three outdoor areas during the school day.

Please adhere to the schedule and days that you registered for as we do not have the flexibility to make changes.
