What we believe

About God

God is one. He is the living and true God who is everlasting and infinite in power, wisdom and goodness; the creator and sustainer of all things, both visible and invisible.

About Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, both God and man, born of the Virgin Mary, who suffered, and died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins.  He was buried, rose from the dead, and ascended to heaven.  He is our Savior, who will one day return to establish God’s eternal kingdom.

About the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is one in being with the Father and the Son.  He convicts the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgement and the spirit comforts, sustains and empowers the faithful, guiding them into all truth.

About the Bible

The Scriptures are the sole source and criterion for the Christian faith, the inspired Word of God and the final authority in matters of Christian faith and life.  In Scripture we are met by the living Christ, and experience His redeeming grace.

About Human Beings

We are made in the spiritual image of God and are the supreme object of God’s creation.  All are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin” and are in need of redemption and salvation.

About Justification and Assurance

God reaches out to the repentant believer with justifying grace and accepting and pardoning love.  The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe.  The Holy Spirit “bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.”

About Eternal Security

The true believer is secure in salvation for eternity.  One’s salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by any persons self-efforts or works.
