Who Is Jesus? Understanding the Son of God
Hey there, friends!
Let’s dive into a question that’s both deep and essential: How does Jesus relate to God? I know this can feel like a tricky puzzle, but don’t worry! We’re here to unravel it together.
First off, it’s important to know that Jesus isn’t just God’s human son. He is God himself who became human. That’s a game-changer! Jesus has always existed. He’s co-eternal with the Father. Think about that for a moment. The same God who created the universe chose to step into our world. Why? To save us! Philippians 2:6-8 tells us that Jesus “made himself nothing,” taking on our human experience, even to the point of death on a cross.
So, when we talk about God having a son, we need to understand the Trinity. What’s that? It’s the truth that there’s one God who exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son (that’s Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. Each person is fully God yet has distinct roles. It’s a beautiful mystery!
The Father sent the Son into the world (John 3:16), and Jesus willingly came (1 Timothy 1:15). They work together in perfect unity, reflecting love and purpose. When Jesus said he and the Father are one (John 10:38), he wasn’t just making a claim. He was revealing the heart of God to us.
And let’s not forget the Holy Spirit! The Holy Spirit is God’s presence with us, guiding and comforting us. Jesus promised that the Spirit would come to help us understand the truth about God and his Son (John 14:26). So, in this divine relationship, all three persons of the Trinity are actively involved in our lives.
If you’re curious about this, I encourage you to dig deeper! The Gospel of John is a great place to start. It’s packed with insights into who Jesus is and his relationship with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Check out John 14-16 for some of the best teachings on this topic.

So, what does it all mean?
God is both Father and Son, existing in perfect relationship with the Holy Spirit. It might be a lot to grasp, but that’s okay! Sometimes, the biggest truths come wrapped in mystery.
